Memory Maker

Well most of this week was pretty uneventful as Ross worked with Dr. Chaski and I did homework and work-work myself. But on Thursday we decided it was time for a break and decided to try out another beach.

It was a perfect day - a little cloudy and a weekday, which meant no one else would be there. Boy were we right. As we arrived at little Lewes Beach it was nearly deserted - wonderful!! We gingerly waded into the water testing the temperature. It was a little cold but not to bad. I got out to about my hips but I wasn't sure I wanted to go any further. Well Ross had other plans... He comes out next to me and holds my hand while we peacefully watch and feel the swells swirling around us. I am feeling all comfy and happy and I am about ready to step a little further out into the cool water when suddenly Ross swoops me up and over and throws me completely under the water. I come up sputtering while he laughs and enjoys his prowess. A few minutes later he decides to attempt the same feat again, but of course I wasn't going to let him get away with that, so I clung hard to him and made sure he came down with me. We both came up sputtering and laughing until Ross suddenly remembers that before the dunk he had his glass on, and now he doesn't. Cheese and Whiskers!! Well we swam around for a while feeling the ocean floor and trying to find the glasses but it was no use. Somewhere out there a fish has had the good fortune of improving his eye sight.

Well even though Ross has no spare glasses, we didn't let the loss ruin our afternoon. We hung out on the beach a little longer, playing Pictionary in the sand, letting the little bit of sun soak into aching muscles, and admiring the view.

The next day, we got up and drove almost an hour to get to the closet wal-mart with a vision center. We have been meaning to get Ross new glasses and I guess this was just a little prompting to get it done. The glasses won't be here until next week, so for the next little while I am the designated driver and reader. Ross can still see as long as what he is looking at is close enough so he does still get some work done. It just makes his eyes tired more quickly. We are praying that the glasses arrive quickly and in the meantime we laugh at the memory making experience.

I think it's funny because I was seriously debating dunking Megan and now God made me pay for it :) He does watch out for her. I am almost ready to start performing experiments to find empirical evidence he prefers to help her foil my dastardly plans.
