We arrived at Dr. Chaski's house very late Thursday night and I was pretty tired and nervous. We had just driven 2000 miles to live with a woman I had met and spoke with for only 20 minutes. Granted we had communicated via e-mail a great deal but I was still nervous. We were greated by Dr. Chaski and her two dogs, Daniel and Dixie. She has a beautiful home in rural delaware and we were ushered into a room aboved the garage. The room we are staying in is much larger then our current bedroom and has a great window seat. There is a great country feel to the home and she has possibly hundreds of books on a plethora of subjects. You can see the richness of someone's life through the books they have chosen to read. I love books! We slept in and enjoyed a good breakfast. Dr. Chaski and I then spent the afternoon getting to know each other. We are very like minded on many subjects, a relief to me, and I feel our greatest obstacle these next two weeks will be staying focused. Megan and I spent Saturday at Rehoboth Beach and had the most amazing fries and pizza. If you ever get a chance, Thrasher's Fries and Groto's pizza are amazing!
Saturday afternoon while Megan and I were walking along the beach (what is it about people and beaches?) Dr. Chaski was out getting the mail when Daniel (a huge black lab) takes off running and starts chasing a little brown ball of fur. Somehow three puppies who had obviously been abandoned had found there way into Chaski's yard. There were two chocolate labs and one german sheppard. They were filthy and covered with ticks. Dr. Chaski is the perfect woman to have found these pups. She cleaned them up, fed them and gave them medicine to get rid of the ticks. She named the chocolates Boaz and Ruth and the German Sheppard, Sheppard. We call the boys Bo and Shep. She is going to take them to the vet tomorrow.
Sunday (this morning) we went to church about 30ish minutes away and had an interesting fast and testimony meeting where an elderly sister took the men of the ward to task for not doing there home teaching. We stayed for gospel doctrine on WoW (word of wisdom sillies) and then went to Ross station. There is a Ross mansion but we couldn't find it. We are having a blast and are so grateful to be out here and having such a great time.

Ross! I found your blog through facebook. My husband and I are living in DC this summer for internships.... and you seem to be on this side of the country as well! If you guys make it out to DC any time we should hang out! And if you need a place to stay we have a pretty big apartment and can figure something out. Just let me know.
