So while reading the 1st presidency message this morning I was struck by something I think is new to the "prepare for a mission" mantra. While growing up I heard a lot about keeping myself clean and pure and remembering to pray and study the scripture but I like the new "maintain my health and strength" addition. Something I'm trying really hard to practice what I'm going to be preaching to my son is to be smart about nutrition and exercise. I have always had my mom as an inspiration for this and I am constantly amazed at how awesome she is at keeping everything going and still managing to work out as much as she does. Anyways, we've been trying hard to change how our family handles nutrition and exercise now so that when our kids grow up (only superman right now, don't get your hopes up) it will just be a family tradition and not something that Mom and Dad keep struggling to do.

President Thomas S. Monson called me to prepare to serve a mission. I will:
•
Keep myself clean and pure and worthy to represent the Lord.•
Maintain my health and strength.•
Pray and study the scriptures.
I will prepare to serve a mission.

Thanks for sharing! I definitely need to get back to my habit of exercise.
Hmm, I need to do some more to keep up with your Mother too.
