A common theme in my family is to mock the "Hurry Up & Wait" factor of life. We hurry through traffic, just to wait at the next light. We hurry through Walmart, just to wait in line. Think about it - how often do we hurry up, just to wait for the next step. We hurry up & wait all the time.
Ross and I are currently in the waiting stage. We hurried to meet the deadlines for grad. school applications and now we are waiting to hear back. Ross hurried through all his major classes and is now waiting (or rather wading) through a few not-so-interesting classes to get to graduation. I am hurrying through a semester simply to wait for another one to start.
And of course we are in the final stages of waiting for our baby to come. I wouldn't say we hurried through the pregnancy, but we hurried through pregnancy books, doctor appointments, tests, and birth classes and now we just wait for the baby to decide it's time to be born. It's only 6 weeks to the due date, but right now that is looking like an eternity. Especially since my best friend of 14 years is having her baby today.
Here is a little tribute to my dear Becky. Yes, we have been best friends for 14 years. We met at a young women's activity and have been there for each other ever since. We made it through high school (and multiple boyfriends) together. We made it through years of college (and more boyfriends) sometimes near each other - sometimes hundreds of miles apart. We were engaged within 2 weeks of each other and consequently married within 2 weeks of each other. Our husbands are currently applying to graduate school. We are having our first babies within a few weeks of each other as well. Lucky for Becky her waiting period is coming to a close, she found out yesterday that her husband was accepted to at least one Med. School (Congrats!), and today she is having her baby (Congrats!).
I have to admit that I am a bit jealous, as I sit here still waiting.
P.S. for those of you who also know Becky you can find a link to her blog (and baby pics) on the left side bar.

Ah Megs, I am sorry. I HATED the waiting. I wish I had good advice on how to pass it...but I don't.
It has been fun doing all our big life events together, I love it! What will be our next one?
The waiting sucks! Been there, done that, twice in the recent past! I have a ton of baby stuff to pass on if you want it! Sent you and email! Please get in touch! Shilo
