It's done!

He did it! Ross has finished his undergrad! It is done! He didn't participate in commencement so we don't have pictures but he has graduated none-the-less. I am so very very proud of him. He has worked very hard over the last few years with very few breaks. It is a pretty big accomplishment to have finally jumped through enough hoops to be awarded a degree.

For those of you who don't already know, in the fall Ross will be starting BYU's Master's program in Linguistics. We wanted so very much to move to Colorado, where Ross was also accepted to the Master's program at UC Boulder, but financially it really just makes sense to stay here where we have good secure jobs, a comfortable home, and familiar surroundings.

I have also convinced Ross to take a true summer break - no classes, no internships, no stress. Just regular old work and some time to do all the hobbies he enjoys, but doesn't get to do when he is in school. Convincing him not to line up too many projects and plans has been no easy task. He has managed to start a few despite my efforts, but at least they are fun (geeky) ones. He is driven to do project after project, I would call him a work-a-holic except it isn't really work he is addicted to, he is addicted to doing and doing it right. As stressful has his projects can be, he gets a bit of a high when they are completed and done well :) I hope he doesn't mind me saying so.

Anyway, I just wanted to let Ross and everyone else know how very proud I am. I know we still have a ways to go with grad school and all but one big step on our path through life is completed. Go baby, go!
